F-16 pilot Heather "Lucky" Penney was one of the first combat pilots in the air on Sept. 11; she and her commanding officer were directed to bring down hijacked Flight 93. Passengers would become the heroes instead."We wouldn't be shooting Flight 93 down. The jets were still equipped with dummy bullets from the training mission. We'd be ramming the aircraft," Penney recalls of that day. "I would essentially be a kamikaze pilot."  Heroic passengers of Flight 93 instead stormed the cockpit which brought Flight 93 down in Pennsylvania.
